Everything you've ever wanted to know about me --- and more :)
One of my favourite hobbies is photography, and in the photography section a large amount of my work can be found. My main areas of focus (if you excuse the pun) is landscape photography, with preference for waterfall scenes and technical composure (gigapixel and time-lapse).
I'm a full-time (lead) systems engineer for a moderately large software company - I work on a wide diversity of projects ranging from research / proof-of-concept up to large full-scale product development. In my spare time I like to keep up to date on the latest technologies, and run a number of small private project, one of which is a complex online content management system used to drive this site and Rosalind-Dando.com
Cars & Motorbikes
In my spare time I enjoy tinkering with cars & motorbikes. I currently have a 2002 MG TF which keeps me more than busy - next job on the list, a new clutch and rear subframe.
I love to travel, and I've been to Iceland twice and Morocco once on holiday. I've also been to other countries on business, such as Denmark & Australia, which can be almost as good.
I also like to travel within the UK, and am currently trying to visit all the 48 county tops of England with my partner Ros; we're now over half way - you can track our progress on the Travel page.
I attended the University of Birmingham, where I completed by masters in Software Engineering - I also did three further years in post-graduate research for Rail Research UK, Civil Engineering Department, & the Computer Science Department, on a Computational Intelligence Approach to Railway Track Intervention.
